The Cake Contest
Written by Lisa Powell Graham
Illustrated by Erica Pelton
Unpublished
Far away over rivers and hills, the Cake Contest
was the greatest day of the year. On that day, everyone baked
the most splendid cakes and brought them to the Hilly Land. Griffold
and his friends Mamby, Spike and Wallump felt sure they could
win this year! They know they must bake the most delicious cake
using only the finest ingredients if they want to win over the
three very hungry judges. Unfortunately, the contest is a long
ways away from their home, so they embark on a journey--hoping
they can make it without dropping the cake. After crossing rivers
and braving the highest mountains in the Hilly Region they get
a glimpse of the contest. It's then that the four friends realize
just how important holding onto your dreams can be.
